Have you been diagnosed with Degenerative Joint Disease?

Degenerative Joint Disease affects approximately one person every hour. When bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage, bone may be exposed and damaged, causing the well known “bone to bone” painful condition. ISCELLI’s cellular therapy has proven a definitive regeneration of new cartilage greatly eliminating the pain and improving function.

OVERVIEW – Degenerative Neuromuscular Disease is characterized by a progressive degenerative decline.

Arthritic Disease or Degenerative Joint Disease represents a group of painful mechanical abnormalities affecting our walking and standing and usually resulting from degradation of joints -including articular cartilage and bone- and known as “bone on bone” painful condition. ISCELLI offers adult stem cell therapies towards painful, injured and inflammatory conditions facilitating healing of muscle, tendons, ligaments, articular and meniscal injuries, and skin wound healing.

Among over 100 different types of arthritis conditions, osteoarthritis is the most common, affecting usually the hands, feet, spine, and large weight-bearing joints, such as the hips and knees. Osteoarthritis is caused by inflammation, breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of the joints.

How is OA working against you?

Osteoarthritis causes inflammation of one or more joints in the body with a progressive degeneration or breakdown in joint cartilage that is typical of the aging process. Cartilage is a tough but rubbery covering the end of bones that protects synovial joints and allows them to move easily. The degeneration of cartilage exposes bones of the joint and allows bone-on-bone contact, causing extreme pain. OA can affect any cartilaginous joint in the body, but it most commonly appears in the hands, hips, knees, neck, and lower back. Over time, as a result of decreased movement secondary to pain, regional muscles may atrophy, and ligaments may become more lax.

How can stem cell therapy work for you?

Adult stem cell therapy helps regenerate the cartilage and develop new blood vessels, thereby lessening or eliminating the pain and improving function.  Besides healing of damaged tissues, adult stem cells have the unique ability to modulate the immune system so as to shut off pathological responses while preserving ability to fight off osteoarthritis.

TREATMENT: Therapies are based on local transplant of autologous (own cells) transplants of  hematopoietic stem cells from bone marrow, primary (fresh) mesenchymal stem cells and stromal components from the adipose (fat) tissue, and growth factors from lisated plateles of your PRP (Platelets Rich Plasma). In severe cases of degenerative osteoarthritis we provide adipose derived “culture expanded” mesenchymal stem cell combined with bone marrow stem cells transplant.

The regenerative effect of a stem cell therapy in arthritis starts immediately after transplant. Nevertheless, clinical improvements onset, duration, and quality will vary from one patient to another depending on factors like general health, age, term of condition, and concomitant diseases.
