It is not known what causes an autoimmune disease. Researchers have identified over 80-100 autoimmune diseases and suspect at least 40 additional diseases of having autoimmune basis.

How is Rheumatoid Arthritis working against you?
In Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the joints creating inflammation that causes the tissue lining inside of joints to thicken resulting in swelling and pain. Over time, there is loss of cartilage and the joint spacing between bones gets smaller. Joints become painful and lose their mobility. RA most commonly affects the joints of the hands, feet, wrists, elbows, knees and ankles.

An advanced condition would require the application of culture expanded adipose derived stem cells, or the combination of both primary and cultured stem cells.
